You may begin this trip in the recreational village of Doubice, where you will see many traditional folk houses located along the edges of vast forests. We will start near an old lodging house and restaurant called Stará hospoda (Old Pub), on the road crossing the Doubický Brook and then going slightly uphill /1-2/ and above the village. On your right side you will see a classicist church built between 1811 and 1814. The green tourist sign will join our road in the woods and will take us even deeper into the CHKO (Protected Landscape and Countryside) of the Elbe River sandstone region. So far, we were walking on a paved forest road, but now we shall leave this road shortly after we pass Hřebenec Hill and then go down for about 2 or 3 kilometres through a rocky canyon until we reach the Kyjovské Valley. Along the way we will pass by several border stones dating back to the era of the "First Republic". In the Kyjovské Valley we will join a forest asphalt road and will go slightly uphill /1-2/ and follow the red tourist sign towards "Pod praporkem" (Under the Flag). The picturesque Kyjovské Valley is a part of the Křinice River Canyon where you can admire interesting rocky formations. After about a 0.5 km long walk through this valley you will make a left turn and go over a wooden bridge across the Křinice River. This will take you to the opposite hill slope, under which the Jeskyně víl (Fairy Cave) is hidden. At the end of winter you may see unique ice stalactites here. At Pod praporkem (Under the Flag) we will take the yellow tourist sign which will take us uphill through rocky towers where we can enjoy beautiful views of the countryside or admire the ruins of Kyjovský Castle. The first part of our trip around the protected land area of Labské pískovce (Elbe River Sandstones) will end in the town of Kyjov, and the second part in a charming village with half-timbered ground houses and two-storey houses with foundation bases. After we refresh ourselves in one of the many guesthouses and restaurants, we will continue to follow the yellow tourist sign going towards "Kamenná Horka" (Stone Hill). We will now be passing / 2 / through meadows and pastures (warning!!! you may need to go around a herd of grazing cattle), and the countryside will slowly reveal its beautiful views to us. From Kamenná Horka we will continue for while without following any tourist signs but enjoying the view of Krásná Lípa. After we join the red tourist sign we will be climbing slightly /1-2 / through various mixed forests and soon we find ourselves in the protected land of the Lužické hory (Lužické Mountains). It is a valuable natural, scientific, healthy and beautiful landscape, where human activities unobtrusively complete the natural appearance of this countryside. Cretaceous sandstone blocks are often mixed with more resistant volcanic rocks, whose exposed parts form dominant mountains, which enhance the visible diversity of the forested landscape and many tourist attractions. From a place called Nad vápenkou we will take a steeper climb /2/ until we reach Karlovu výšinu (Charles Heights), where at the foothills of Široký vrch (Wide Hill) we can enjoy the view of Doubice Village and its surroundings. We shall now return back from the turn which took us to the viewing area and follow the red tourist sign towards a river spring and Monastic Chapel, where the red path joins another trail, but we continue farther on our asphalt forest road towards Doubice. As soon as we reach the beginning of Nová Doubice we will see a yellow sign, make a left turn and take a short climb /3/ for about 200 m until we reach the top of the Spravedlnost hill (Justice Hill) (553 m). On the top of the rocky hill you will find a viewing platform offering panoramic and far-reaching views of the Lužické Mountains dominated by the hills Luž, Klíč and others. Just a 1.5 km long and easy downhill slope /1-2/ towards Doubice separates us from our starting point. Total length 22 km.
