Džbán Nature Park spreads over the area of the following three districts: Rakovník, Kladno and Louny. The park represents a fairly extensive area that is valuable because of its natural habitat and landscape, being located between the industrial areas of the North Bohemia brown coal basin and the Kladno-Rakovník basin.
From the northwest the park is shaded by the belt of the Krušné Mountains. The Džbán area is hilly and in particular around Ročov it turns into highlands. The area has a high natural, scientific and recreational value; mixed and deciduous forests have been preserved here providing a home to a whole range of rare plant species, such as the lady orchid, bugleweed, purple gromwell, anemone, white helleborine and narrow-leaved helleborine. The mission of the Džbán Nature Park is to preserve the unique countryside of the Džbán chalk plateau and its important aesthetic values, in particular in terms of the geomorphology of the area, the woodland, typical flora and fauna and the greenery outside the forests.
